Current reservation and purchase status
Valve opened Steam Frame reservations on Monday, September 14 at 10:01 AM Pacific. The signup window stayed open until Thursday, September 17 at 10:00 AM Pacific, and purchase-offer emails began September 18 with a 72-hour checkout window.
The reservation system lists two Steam Frame models: the 256GB Kit and the 1TB Kit.
Registered buyers should monitor the email connected to their Steam account and complete checkout within 72 hours after receiving a purchase offer.
Buyers beyond the currently produced unit count remain on an automatic waitlist until units become available, and new registrations join the back of that queue.
Kits, regions, and next steps
- Choose between the 256GB Steam Frame Kit and the 1TB Steam Frame Kit offered through the reservation system.
- The 256GB Kit costs $1,059, while the 1TB Kit costs $1,299.
- Regional prices for the two kits are 1,529 and 1,859 CAD; 1,049 and 1,279 EUR; 889 and 1,089 GBP; 1,609 and 1,969 AUD; and 4,539 and 5,549 PLN, with VAT included where applicable.
- Each kit includes the headset, Steam Frame Controllers, a Wi-Fi 6E wireless adapter, and Half-Life: Alyx.
- A power supply is not included. Valve sells a 45W power supply for $29, and a Steam Deck charger or any USB-C charger rated at 45W or higher also works.
- Valve ships directly through Steam to the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Union, and Australia.
- Buyers in Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong purchase through KOMODO, while South Korean availability follows later.
- The November 2025 announcement initially targeted early 2026, the target shifted to the first half of the year, and Valve later said the memory crisis required another review of shipping timing and pricing before the summer 2026 launch.
- Registration eligibility required a Steam account in good standing with a purchase made before April 27, 2026, with one signup permitted per household.
- If you are waitlisted, keep your place in the queue until units become available; new registrations are added behind existing entries.
